The evidence is all around us, from worsening hurricanes to raging wildfires that now tear across the West Coast each year: our climate is in a state of crisis, and it’s up to all of us to do something about it. This youth-led fight for our collective future is the focus of a new anthology of Teen Vogue’s climate change coverage, released today by Haymarket Books.

Compiled by politics editor Lucy Diavolo, No Planet B: A Teen Vogue Guide to the Climate Crisis features 28 pieces from 21 contributors, as well as new contributions from current and former Teen Vogue staff Lindsay Peoples-Wagner, Samhita Mukhopadhyay, Allegra Kirkland, and Allison Maloney.

As Diavolo writes in the introduction, “Three key aspects of the climate justice movement — reporting, activism, and intersectionality — form the guideposts for this collection just as they have guided and continue to guide our coverage day in and day out. Accuracy, advocacy, and equity are foundational pillars to any movement seeking justice, and the climate justice movement of these last several years has embodied them all.”

In No Planet B, you’ll meet youth activists pushing the government for systemic change. You’ll get a firsthand look at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. You’ll travel to the Arctic and all around Brooklyn. You’ll sit down with Greta Thunberg, get a primer on environmental racism, and learn why climate change is a labor issue. These are your stories and your voices.

Nick Estes, co-founder of Red Nation, an Indigenous resistance organization, said the book offers proof that “this isn't your grandparent's environmental movement.”

“A generation is on the move,” he says. “Climate justice is young, queer, Black, Indigenous, and militant af. No Planet B demonstrates it is inexorably linked to racial justice, decolonization, and abolition. There's no turning back.”
